We like Scrobbld free, no catch Posted on April 4th

While keeping quiet in the past few weeks or so, we were working hard on some new cool features. Some of them are increased file size for upload and eBay integration. More on this in later posts. Stay tuned!

I’ve got a feeling that I had to write this post in the first Scrobbld release. The thing with presentation and marketing of any website is that what might seem intuitive to one person is not intuitive at all to someone else. The first time I noticed this was when I tried to explain how Scrobbld can help the shipping process to someone I didn’t know at all. It was only after I handed over my business card that it became apparent to me that an image of a totally different website to Scrobbld was drawn and I even forgot our mission statement. She took my card with hesitation and said: “umm… well we don’t have many packages to send, I don’t think we need this really!”

Later that day after a detailed analysis of the cold call it became apparent that I missed the word FREE from the whole conversation. Probably she expected a service like 99% of services on internet with the antique business model of: “charge people for a year because I am quite sure they won’t pay for a second month if it’s monthly fees!”. Maybe a note from Guy Kawasaki, anybody should be able to explain his business and mission statements in one sentence, could have saved the day for me.

Anyway once again SCROBBLD IS FREE and we will keep it that way. There is no catch, none at all. Of course we have to pay for our hosting and domain and the occasional cup of coffee, which is why we introduced the plus plan for people who like to help us in the process and also have a larger space for their uploads and transactions.
