Scrobbld: Before and After Posted on August 26th
Scrobbld has come a long way in the past few weeks to be what it is right now. We ran an initial ‘public alpha’ offering (we like breaking the norms, alpha releases are usually for internal runs). We knew we had great ideas and solutions to real problems that we as sellers were facing everyday and were sure that other sellers were also facing. But users always use things in different ways and this public alpha run was to determine what the customers wanted. So here I compare what Scrobbld looked then and what it has evolved into now.
Here is a comparison of the homepage (click to enlarge):

In some ways the homepage was ‘better’ earlier since there were less things on it but now it gives a more comprehensive view of what the service is about and a better idea at a glance of what is coming your way.
For further illustration, here’s a comparison of the Export Templates page (click to enlarge):

The interface for creating and editing Export Templates is a lot simpler than it was. The comparison is more like that of DOS to Windows. To add fields to an export template, they had to be typed in where as now they can be chosen from a simple drop down menu and can be removed by clicking on the trash can in front of each field. Moreover, their order in the exported file can be changed by dragging and dropping.
These are just some of the changes that we have made in the time that we had been hiding away in our burrow but now we are here and look forward to you joining in! This post is to demonstrate and give an introduction to the changes we have brought about in Scrobbld but in the coming posts we will discuss all the features in detail one by one and how they can save time and effort for you. If you haven’t already, sign up on the homepage to be invited.
