eBay: where is your time spent? Posted on May 13th

One of the advantages of eBay, or to that matter any online business, is that you can work as little or as much as you like, though of course the outcome is proportional to your efforts. Here I will share with you a few stats I took from “The eBay business handbook” by Robert Pugh. It is a clear demonstration of how much Scrobbld can help you save time on the most daunting task of any online retail business.
The volume of your sales online is limited to your stock, expertise and the time you must spend on scaling your business. That is to say, the larger the volume the more time you need to spend on post-sales activities such as answering email, calls etc. and packaging and postage. The following stats are from Pugh’s book which provide a general picture of the tasks involved:
Although I believe the stats are correct to an extent I think the amount of research and sourcing time depends on your plans. More specifically, if you are planning for undesirable events such as price breaks by competitors and scaling your sales. Please share your stats if you think it differs in your case. Thanks and look forward to some good sales ahead.
